Overlaying channels from multiple modules

The left sidebar lists every channel in every loaded module, grouped for readability. Ticking a channel plots it; the whole point of Overtrace is that channels from different modules share one time axis.

Finding channels fast

• Search — type in “Search channels across modules…” to filter every module at once.
• Expand groups / Collapse groups — open or close all channel groups.
• Collapse modules — fold whole modules down when you have several loaded.
• Clear all — untick every channel to start a fresh overlay.

Selecting many channels at once

Click a channel to toggle it. To toggle several quickly, press and drag down the list — Overtrace paints the same on/off state across every analog row your pointer passes, then redraws once when you release.

Long channel names

Channel names are never truncated or wrapped. Each channel section — an analog group, Digital Signals, or No Data — scrolls sideways on its own, so a fully qualified name like Engine_1.Cylinder_3.ExhaustTemp_DegC stays readable without widening the panel.

• The color swatch stays pinned to the left edge and the value cell stays pinned to the right while the name scrolls between them.
• Scrolling is per section, not for the whole sidebar — Performance and Temperatures scroll independently.
• Hovering a channel shows its full name as a tooltip, and hovering a module name does the same.

Colors

Each channel gets a distinct color when it's created, and each module has its own accent color, so overlaid traces stay tellable apart.

The cursor readout carries those colors through: in the hover readout every channel name and its value are drawn in that channel's line color, next to a small square swatch. The same coloring is used in the locked-cursor and measurement readouts, so a number always ties back to a line.

Readout text size

Next to the Cursor dropdown in the Tools row there's an A− / A+ pair with the current size between them. It sets the text size of the cursor readout box, from 10px to 22px in 2px steps, and the choice is saved in your browser so it comes back next time.
