Point-to-point measurement
The Measure tool reads exact values off the chart and computes the differences between points, so you can quantify a change instead of estimating it from gridlines. Points don't have to sit on the same trace — as the panel hint says, “Click any two points on the chart — any channels, any units.”
- Click “📏 Measure” in the Tools row to open the measurement panel.
- Click on the chart to drop points — up to six. Each click snaps to whichever visible channel is nearest to where you clicked.
- Read the A → B summary at the top of the panel: Δ Time and Δ Value.
- Read each point's channel, X position, value, and its delta from the previous point in the table below.
- Use “Clear points” to start over, or “Done” to close the tool.
Measuring across two channels
Because every click snaps independently, point A can land on a temperature and point B on a speed. Overtrace still reports Δ Value, but it reports the raw difference between the two numbers rather than pretending they share a scale. When the two points carry different units, “(different units — raw delta)” appears beside Δ Value so the number is never mistaken for a converted one.
Pinning measurement to one channel
The Snap dropdown in the panel header decides where clicks land. “Auto — nearest channel” is the default. Pick a specific channel instead and every point is pinned to that one trace, which is what you want when two channels run close together. Digital signals are listed under “Digital signals (time only)” — measuring one of those gives you timing rather than a value.
Reading the colors
The A and B tags in the summary are filled with their channel's line color, and each point's text is drawn in that color too, matching the swatches in the hover readout. With points on two different traces, color is the fastest way to see which number came from which line.

Can I measure between two different channels?
Yes. Each click snaps to the nearest visible channel, so point A and point B can sit on different traces. When their units differ, Overtrace marks the result “(different units — raw delta)”.
How many measurement points can I place?
Up to six at once. Overtrace shows each point's exact value, its delta from the previous point, and an A → B summary of Δ Time and Δ Value.
Why did my measurement points disappear?
Switching the X-axis mode clears measurement points, because they're placed in the current mode's units and can't be mapped cleanly to another mode.
