Annotating events and locking the cursor

Two tools help you mark and compare specific moments: Annotate for labeled event markers, and Lock cursor for frozen readouts.

Annotating events

1. Click “🏷 Annotate” in the Tools row.
2. Click the chart where you want a marker, and give it a label.
3. Drag the label to move it out of the way of the data.
4. Use “Clear all” to remove every annotation, or “Done” to close the tool.

Multi-line labels

The label box is a growing text area, and the hint under it spells out the contract: “Enter saves · Shift+Enter adds a line”. Press Shift+Enter to drop to a new line inside the label, Enter on its own to save, and Escape to cancel. Labels render those newlines as real line breaks on the chart, so a two-line callout stays two lines.

Locking cursor readouts

1. Click “🎯 Lock cursor” in the Tools row.
2. Click the chart to freeze the readout at that spot — up to four locks.
3. Compare the frozen values across your locked positions.
4. Double-click a lock line to remove it, or “Clear all” to remove them all.

Colored readouts

Each locked row lists every visible channel as “name=value”, drawn in that channel's line color behind a small square swatch — the same pattern the hover readout and the measurement summary use. Reading four locks side by side, the color tells you which line a number belongs to without checking the sidebar.
